CloudDC

Simply put CloudDC provides customers with virtual machines (VMs) in the Cloud. This virtual datacentre can do everything a physical datacentre can but you don’t have the costheadaches of running the equipment; you just log on from a web browser and mange ityou would any other server. Our platform is mostly used for high compute, complex web-apps and websites however it also caters for internal apps and non-customer facing infrastructure.

One of the key benefits of this virtual datacentre is you will not only have access to the servers from anywhere in the world but you will also have access to an instantly and infinitely scalable platform for when your business suddenly takes offif you have a bursty load. Lastly the platform provides you with access to a fully redundant back-up allowing you piece of mind to sleep at night knowing you have a backup.

In May 2011 CloudDC user Ian Cumming launched cheap flights website GetFlight.com.au and was immediately featured on the front page of a major news website. The traffic to the site then shot up to thousands of visitors within minutes and hit the server's configuration limit. To handle the enormous traffic load the server's CPUs and memory was increased by 8x and the new configuration was live in less than a minute on CloudDC. Once the traffic started to subside the web server had its capacity reduced, so Ian only paid for what he needed at the time.
